We caught up with Rich Davis, Bids Manager, Advanced Resource Managers, to find out more about him and his experience on a APMP (Association of Bid Proposal Management Professionals) course via Optamor:

“I joined ARM as Bids Manager for the Serocor Group in October 2021. My role is to manage all proposal activity across the group, supporting our industry teams to design and clearly communicate solutions to potential partners and existing clients. I signed on to the Foundation Level APMP course after joining the business and coupled with my business learnings  it  opened my eyes to many opportunities of career development - the qualification was well structured and allowed me to complete it alongside my working day.

The course was based online, and I had access to many resources which allowed me to use them as and when needed during the first few months of my role,  enabling me to focus on what needed to be done to support. client development.

During the course, I was assigned a mentor who would regularly keep in touch and support me on APMP Foundation status achievement. This assisted me on the job too, I was able to use examples in my current employment and navigate through any potential issues and challenges, putting my learnings into practice.

Throughout the course sourced, enrolled and administered by Optamor , there were various modules, from how capture new business, working with teams, pulling projects, creating meaningful content for clients and how to create stand out designs for the solutions our business offers.

Optamor also helped set up the qualification and assisted in the management of my diary to allow me to study and complete in good time, causing less stress to hit deadlines for both work projects and my qualification.

When I was awarded the Foundation Level APMP certification, doors were opened to me for other qualifications that would further my career development. Optamor were really helpful in letting me know what other courses I can complete and how they would benefit my knowledge and job. It was really helpful to know what would assist me in my plans for career progression and that helped me make the decision to complete the next level of the APMP certification at Practitioner level.”
